Basketball

JAY SIMPSON

First and foremost, I want to express my deepest appreciation to the Farm League for their unwavering belief in my abilities as a youth trainer and basketball coach. They provided me with the platform to mold young minds, instill values, and teach the game I hold near and dear to my heart. Without their trust and support, my journey in shaping the lives of these talented young athletes wouldn't have been possible.
Who knew that after six Coach of the Year awards and six championships since Farm League's inaugural season in 2017, this would fill the void that I personally left behind after my playing days were unfortunately cut short. My biggest feat in coaching to this day is coaching both of my Gem Ratz teams to eventually play against each other for the championship. The joy of sitting back and watching them showcase everything I've taught them in that game still leaves me speechless. I've had the best group of parents and players you could ever ask for. I thank them for supporting me along the way and I'm forever indebted to them for their belief, trust, and dedication! Thank you Gem Ratz family!!
If I had any tips about helping parents with their younger children to love the sport, it would be to watch basketball on TV with them. The creativity in today's game is truly entertaining. I'd also recommend being patient. Just like in school, each child learns differently, and when things click, you will be amazed at seeing your child's untapped potential being displayed.
Furthermore, Farm League is a great avenue to start your child's basketball journey. I fully endorse them as a recreational League .It's competitive, fun, and helps players build their confidence as they advance in grade levels. I'm looking to guide beginners and take intermediate and skilled players to the next level of their game from 4th grade through 12th grade with individual training, team training, and weekend tournament play. Give me a call to try out a session, Coach Jay, at 713-367-5398. Remember, "Preparation provides separation."
